Reindeer Hot Chocolate

Several years ago I shared these gift-able Christmas Mason Jars. They have continued to be one of the most popular Christmas posts every single December. And the jar I see made the most on social media is the Reindeer Jar

So, I’m very excited to share these Reindeer Hot Chocolate cones with you all this year. They’re so fun to assemble and they make a great, inexpensive gift. This year, I got my kids involved in the process of making these. My boys each made a bunch to give to all their friends (and a couple to keep for themselves, naturally)!…And my daughter mostly just ate the marshmallows. You win some and you lose some! 🙂

Here’s What You’ll Need For Reindeer Hot Chocolate Packets!

Heads-up, the below are affiliate links meaning we get a small commission at no additional cost to you; thanks for your support!

  • Cone-shaped cellophane bags
  • Hot chocolate mix. Use your favorite hot chocolate mix. Avoid mixes with dehydrated marshmallows since we’re adding in marshmallows.
  • Chocolate chips. Pick your favorite flavor: semi-sweet, milk, or dark. We like mini chocolate chips best, but regular-sized ones work great too! You could also use a baking bar and chop it up to add in.
  • Mini marshmallows. The softer the marshmallows, the better! No shame in feeling the bags at the store before purchasing!

Quick Tip

We’ve gotten this variety pack of hot chocolate before and there are some delicious flavors. These unique flavors would make some fun Reindeer Hot Chocolate packets!

Reindeer Hot Chocolate Materials (Continued)

  • Googly eyes. Grab whatever size you like best; we prefer smaller sized!
  • Red (or brown) pom poms. Use one-inch red pom poms for “Rudolph” or brown for regular Reindeer hot chocolate!
  • Red (or brown) pipe cleaners. Again, whatever you prefer–brown will give more of an antler look while red delivers more of a festive color pop.
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks. We use glue sticks in a glue gun to attach the eyes and nose!

Reindeer Hot Chocolate Cones: Tips

  • Add a piping bag to a tall cup–this will make dropping in the ingredients simple!
  • After adding the cocoa mix, wipe down the inside of the bag with a paper towel or napkin to keep the layers clear and distinct. A funnel helps prevent spills.
  • Make sure the hot glue isn’t too hot or it could melt the bag!
