These Sliders Earned Instant Favorite Status!
If you’ve been here for any amount of time, you know I’m fully obsessed with sliders. My French Dip Sliders were one of the first recipes I ever shared and they’re still super popular. And the Monte Cristo, Ham and Cheese, Turkey, and Cheeseburger Sliders are long-time favorites around here. I could honestly make sliders for every meal. My kids always eat them, they reheat well, and they’re the biggest hit at any get together.
So the fact that I hadn’t made a pizza version yet was shocking even to me. It had been on my mental list forever, and one night when I had Hawaiian rolls, leftover pepperoni, and a jar of pizza sauce staring at me, I knew it was finally time. I sliced the rolls, layered everything like a lasagna, and brushed the tops with garlic herb butter because I wanted that golden garlic-knot crust.
And let me tell you… it didn’t just turn out good. It turned out amazing. I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. This might just be my new favorite.

Ingredients In Pizza Sliders Recipe
| Ingredient | Swaps or Tips |
|---|---|
| Hawaiian rolls | Be sure to grab a fresh and soft package. |
| Mozzarella cheese | Shred yourself to get the best melt. |
| Pepperoni | I love deli-sliced for the best flavor. |
| Pizza sauce | Rao’s pizza sauce is a favorite here. Choose a thick and flavorful brand you love or make your own. |
| Butter | Unsalted helps control salt levels. |
| Italian seasoning & garlic powder | Add red pepper flakes for heat or extra oregano for a stronger herb flavor. |

Equipment
- Sheet pan (15" x 10") 9 x 13-inch
Ingredients
- 12-count package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls see note 1
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese or 6 slices mozzarella and 6 slices provolone
- 4 ounces pepperoni 24 large slices or 48 smaller, see note 2
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1-1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 9×13-inch sheet pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in remaining ingredients listed under “butter.”
- Carefully slice the entire block of Hawaiian Rolls in half horizontally, keeping the individual rolls attached (see note 1). Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared pan. Brush 2-1/2 tablespoons of the prepared butter mixture onto the cut sides of both the top and bottom halves of the rolls. (So you’ll use a total of 5 tbsp butter).
- Layer in the following order: 6 cheese slices, 12 pepperonis, pizza sauce, 12 more pepperonis, 6 remaining cheese slices. Do not add top slab of rolls yet. Bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven and place top half of the rolls onto the sliders. Brush the top and sides of the rolls generously with the remaining butter mixture. If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan on top. Cover pan with foil and bake 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Serve hot, cutting into individual sliders.
Recipe Notes
Note 2: I prefer deli-sliced pepperoni. It’s larger, so you’ll only need about 24 pieces. If using smaller, packaged pepperonis, you’ll need about 48. Feel free to adjust the quantity to your preference.
Store: Store cooled Pizza Sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–5 days. Reheat them in the oven or air fryer until heated through. (I don’t recommend microwaving).Nutrition
