This classic and rich Strawberry Milkshake takes minutes to make and only needs four ingredients. It is certain to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Use your leftover strawberries in this strawberry shortcake, strawberry banana smoothie, or strawberry salad.

The Best Strawberry Milkshake
My mom has always loved cold drinks like smoothies, milkshakes, and açaí bowls. She used to make them often, trying out all kinds of milkshakes like chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream, and also her specialty, strawberry milkshakes.
Her recipe is a family favorite and now a favorite in my family.
Quick Tip
If your ice cream is hard as a rock, take it out of the freezer and let it soften slightly for a few minutes.

Ingredients
- Strawberries: Bring the sweet, fruity flavor in your strawberry milkshake.
- Vanilla Extract: Enhances the overall flavor. You can skip it if you want.
- Vanilla Bean Ice Cream: Makes the shake creamy and sweet, forming the shake’s base.
- Whole Milk: Controls how thick the shake is. Use less if you want a thicker shake.
- Whipped Cream and Freeze-Dried Strawberries (Optional): Make it look fun while adding some crunch.

How To Make A Strawberry Milkshake
- Prepare: Chill a glass in the fridge. Wash and then slice the strawberries.
- Blend: Add all the ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Serve: Pour into a cold glass. Add whipped cream and crushed freeze-dried strawberries if you want. Then enjoy!
Tips For Success
- Chill Glasses: Put the glasses in the fridge or freezer before making so it’s extra cold.
- Adjust Thickness: Want it thicker? Use less milk. Want it thinner? Add more milk.
- Strawberries: Wash and dry them well before slicing for the strawberry milkshake.
- Choose Quality Ice Cream: Use a good vanilla bean ice cream for the best flavor.

Strawberry Milkshake
Equipment
- Blender high-powered
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
- 2 packed cups vanilla bean ice cream use a good-quality brand
- 3/4 to 1 cup whole milk
- Optional additions see note 1
- Toppings as desired see note 2
Instructions
- Chill a glass (see note 3). Wash and dry the strawberries. Remove the stems and slice the strawberries to get 1 and 1/2 cups.
- In a high-powered blender, combine the freshly cut strawberries, vanilla extract, vanilla ice cream, and milk (depending on desired thickness; 3/4 cup will be thicker). If desired, add in malt powder and sugar. Blend until smooth. Don’t over blend, as that will water down/thin out the milkshake.
- Pour the milkshake into a cold glass and top with whipped cream and any other toppings of your choice. I like adding crushed up freeze-dried strawberries on top of the whipped cream.
