Turkey Wrap Recipe

Last year, I shared two wrap recipes: Turkey Cranberry Wrap and Chicken Caesar Wrap. This year, I’m sharing another wrap that’s been a big hit at my home!

Wraps are a go-to for lunch and make a quick, easy dinner. I love packing a few with some fruit, veggies, chips, and drinks for a picnic at kids’ games or soaking up nice summer warm days!

All the ingredients in this recipe set out for easy assembly.

Deli TurkeyFreshly sliced works best. Boar’s Head and Hillshire Farm are great choices. Deli ham also works.
White Cheddar CheeseSargento aged white Cheddar is my favorite. Sharp Cheddar is also great.
MayoLight mayo works well too.
AppleGranny Smith apples add the best sweet and tart contrast.
LemonAdds fresh, bright flavor. For more lemon flavor, add lemon zest.
Coleslaw MixStore-bought coleslaw mix keeps this quick and easy. Find it near the salad mixes in the produce section.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons mayo plus some for spreading on tortillas, see note 1
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup packaged coleslaw mix see note 2
  • 1 cup grated Granny Smith apple
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 medium-to-large tortillas
  • Thick-sliced deli turkey
  • 3 slices sharp Cheddar cheese see note 3

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix coleslaw blend, grated Granny Smith apple (grated on the large holes of a box grater), mayo, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
  • Spread a thin layer of mayo on each tortilla. Divide the coleslaw mixture evenly among tortillas. Cut cheese slices in half and place on top. Add deli turkey on top, adding as much as you’d like.
  • Roll up wraps tightly, cut in half, and enjoy promptly! (These wraps don’t store well as the coleslaw will make them soggy.)

Recipe Notes

Note 1: The better the mayo, the better the flavor! Hellman’s/Best Foods® are great choices.
Note 2: Use store-bought undressed coleslaw, usually found in the produce section near salad mixes.
Note 3: Sargento® aged white Cheddar is a favorite, but sharp (yellow) Cheddar also works well.
Storage: Wraps are best enjoyed fresh. If storing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 1 day. It will get soggy as it sits. Store coleslaw separately in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
