How This Chex Mix Became My New Party Signature!

I make a lot of snacks for parties but I realized almost all of them were sweet. Oreo Balls or Muddy Buddies are usually the things I toss in the car when I’m running out the door to a gathering. So last year I decided I needed a go-to savory snack. Something crunchy and impossible to stop eating.

This Chex Mix Recipe was the winner. I made my first test batch and within a day the entire batch had vanished. I knew it was a hit!

What I love most is that it works for everything. Tailgates, holiday parties, road trips, movie nights. It’s the kind of snack you bring once and immediately get asked to bring again.

If desired, add cayenne pepper, starting with 1/4 teaspoon and increase to taste, or Tabasco or hot sauce, starting with 1 tablespoon and increase to taste.
    • While gently mixing everything, very slowly drizzle the butter mixture over. Be sure to toss really well so the mixture is evenly covered with the seasoned butter.
    • Spread the mixture on prepared pans, making sure it’s in an even layer and not piled. Bake for 1 hour, stirring and flipping the mix every 20 minutes. Spread in an even layer again after every stir/flip. Remove from the oven and let stand at room temperature until fully cooled before serving. Enjoy!

I love this recipe. It has a bit more kick than some other chex mix recipes. I love the Cheez-its in the mix – great flavor. I didn’t have any unsalted butter so I reduced the Seasoned salt and added a bit more garlic, onion, and paprika. The volume of Worcestershire is perfect. I may try smoked paprika next time. Thanks!
