I’m a big fan of sliders, seriously, I have a ton of recipes on my site, but these cheeseburger sliders might just be my new favorite. Combining one of my all-time favorite foods (burgers, duh) with one of my go-to appetizers (sliders) was a no-brainer, and they did not disappoint.
It’s like getting all the burger flavor but in slider form, quick and easy. After bringing them to a get-together, I had so many people asking me to bring them again or to get the recipe ASAP, so here I am, finally sharing the long-awaited cheeseburger slider recipe. I hope you enjoy it!

The Sauce That Ties It All Together
- Mayonnaise: Use high-quality mayo. It makes a difference!
- Yellow mustard: Stick to classic yellow, avoiding Dijon or grainy varieties.

- Sauce seasonings: These are the same as the beef seasonings, but we include paprika.

How To Make Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe
- Prep: Preheat the oven. Slice the rolls in half.
- Beef: Brown the beef with seasonings; drain and let it cool slightly.

- Assemble: Spread sauce on both halves of rolls; layer with cheese, beef, and cheese.

- 12 count Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls see note 1
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef 93/7
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese see note 2
- 3/4 cup mayo
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3-1/2 tablespoons garlic-herb butter melted, see note 3
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. Without separating them, slice the slab of rolls horizontally into two halves.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over high heat. Add the ground beef, brown it, and crumble it. As it cooks, season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drain off any excess grease and let the beef cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth. Set aside 1/4 cup of the sauce and mix it into the slightly cooled beef. Spread 3 tablespoons of sauce on the bottom half of the rolls and another 3 tablespoons on the top half. Store any leftover sauce in the fridge, covered.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared pan. Layer half the cheese over the rolls. Evenly distribute the beef over the cheese. Top with the remaining cheese. Bake this arrangement without the top half of the rolls for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and add the top slab of rolls. Use a pastry brush to spread the melted butter over the top and sides of the rolls. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Cover pan with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5–10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve hot, cutting into individual sliders. Enjoy with any leftover sauce for dipping!
Recipe Notes
Note 2: Choose either an 8-ounce block of Cheddar to shred yourself, or an 8-ounce package of pre-sliced cheese, ideally with 12 slices. Sharp Cheddar has more flavor!
Note 3: For butter, I like Kerrygold® garlic butter. Or mix 3-1/2 tablespoons of butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning for a homemade version.
