The Treat My Neighbors Still Talk About

Growing up, Christmas wasn’t Christmas without a few big baking days. My mom would pull out all the bowls, we’d crank up the holiday music, and the whole house smelled like sugar and chocolate. We’d make treats for neighbors and co-workers, and one thing always made the list: Tiger Butter Fudge.

I still remember dropping plates off and hearing, “Oh good, the fudge!” before we even made it to the door. It was the treat everyone waited for, and honestly, it’s still one of my all-time favorites.

It’s creamy, smooth, and packed with rich chocolate and peanut butter flavor. Plus it’s only four ingredients and totally foolproof. A few minutes in the microwave, a quick swirl, and you’ve got the easiest Christmas treat ever. Perfect for gifting…or “gifting” to yourself.

Tiger Butter Fudge Ingredients

IngredientHelpful Tip
White chocolate chipsUse a good-quality brand for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
Peanut butterCreamy peanut butter melts best; avoid natural or no-stir varieties.
Semi-sweet chocolate chipsAdds depth and balances the sweetness of the white chocolate.
Milk chocolate chipsCreates a softer, sweeter swirl. More semi-sweet also works if you prefer it less sweet.
Parchment paperLeave an overhang so you can lift the fudge out easily once it has chilled.

How To Make Tiger Butter Fudge

  1. Prep Pan: Line a 9×13 pan with parchment, leaving an overhang.
  2. Melt White Layer: Microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth, then spread in pan.
  3. Melt Chocolate Layer: Microwave chocolate chips and peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Swirl: Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the white layer and swirl with a knife.
  5. Chill and Slice: Refrigerate until firm, lift out with the parchment, and cut into bars.

Quick Tip

Keep all liquid away from the chocolate. Even a little moisture can make it seize and clump.

Tiger Butter Fudge

Tiger Butter Fudge tastes like a fancy candy shop treat, with creamy chocolate peanut butter swirls, but it’s secretly just four ingredients and a quick microwave melt.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chilling Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 54 bars

Ingredients

  • 4 cups white chocolate chips see note 1
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter divided
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips or 1 additional cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment. Leave an overhang for easy removal.
  • Add white chocolate chips and 3/4 cup peanut butter to a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir for 30 seconds, then continue microwaving in 15-second bursts, stirring for 15 seconds between each burst, until mostly melted. Keep stirring until fully smooth without overheating the chocolate. Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Add semi-sweet chips, milk chocolate chips, and the remaining 2 tablespoons peanut butter to another microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then continue heating in 15-second bursts, stirring well after each one, until mostly melted. Stop microwaving once the chips are mostly melted to avoid overheating, and stir until smooth. Drizzle over the white chocolate layer and swirl with a table knife. Chill 30 to 60 minutes until firm.
  • Using the overhang, lift the block of fudge from the pan. Warm a sharp knife under hot water, dry it, then make a decisive cut. Rinse, dry, and repeat for clean, even squares. Cut into small pieces and serve.
Final step! Please let us know how it was by leaving a review.

Recipe Notes

Note 1: Since chocolate is the main ingredient, use high-quality white, milk, and semi-sweet chocolate. Lower-grade chocolate often contains fillers (like wax), which can give the fudge an odd flavor and texture.
Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge; they soften quickly at room temperature. Store for up to 1 week.

Quick Tip

The best way to slice Tiger Butter Fudge is to make sure it is fully chilled and firm before cutting. Use a sharp chef’s knife and warm the blade under hot water, then dry it completely so it glides through the layers. Lightly score the top to mark even pieces, then press straight down to slice. Wipe the knife clean between each cut to keep the edges neat and smooth.

Tips For Making Tiger Butter Fudge

  1. Stir more, heat less: Stop microwaving once most chips are melted. Do not overheat chocolate chips!
  2. Work quickly: Melted layers swirl best while warm.
  3. Mix in the swirls: Drag the knife in slow, long motions; don’t overmix so the pattern stays visible.
  4. Set the fudge: Tap the pan to release air bubbles.

Storage

Storage: Keep the fudge in an airtight container in the fridge. It softens at room temperature, so chilling keeps the layers firm. It stays fresh for about one week.

Freezing: Freeze the fudge in a full block for the best texture. Wrap it tightly, then place it in a freezer bag. Thaw in the fridge before slicing. If already cut, wrap each square tightly before freezing to prevent drying out.

I made these yesterday. The flavor is amazing. They just melt in your mouth. I should have let them come to room temperature before I cut them. I had a lot of uneven pieces. Those I just saved for my family.

Has anyone tried it with natural pb? Would rather avoid the hydrogenated oils etc if possible- maybe it would be okay? Just not as smooth?
