Garlic Bread Recipe made with French bread, creamy garlic Parmesan butter, and baked until golden and perfectly crisp on the edges.

From Soup Sidekick to Main Attraction
Back when I shared my Nordstrom Tomato Soup copycat recipe, my entire family absolutely flipped for the crostini topping. My husband said it was the best garlic bread he had ever had, and the kids polished off the whole tray, dipping their way through their soup bowls. It was basically a 1:1 ratio of dipping to bread, haha.
So I figured, why not turn those crostinis into a full-blown garlic bread recipe situation? I grabbed some French bread, mixed up that buttery filling, and piled it on thick. A quick bake later, garlic bread was on the table and just as big a hit as before.
Honestly, this bread could not be easier. It is quick to make, simple from start to finish, and the perfect side for just about any meal.

Garlic Bread Recipe Ingredients
| Ingredient | Tip or Swap |
|---|---|
| French Bread | Use a soft loaf for the best texture. Day-old bread works great for extra crisp edges. |
| Butter | Make sure it’s softened so it mixes smoothly. Salted or unsalted both work; adjust salt as needed. |
| Garlic & Garlic Powder | Using both gives deep, layered garlic flavor. |
| Parmesan Cheese | Use real, refrigerated Parmesan; not the shelf-stable kind (that’s not real cheese!). Go for good-quality grated cheese (sand-like texture) for the best flavor. |
| Fresh Parsley | Adds color and freshness. Use freeze-dried parsley if needed. |
