Fried Pickle Dip is a creamy, tangy dip inspired by deep-fried pickles, and wow, it’s good! Grab some chips!

Author’s Notes
Pass The Pickles, Please!
Everyone in my family loves pickles. Just last week, we were out on the back deck planning the week ahead and ended up downing an entire container of Grillo’s while just passing them around and chatting haha.
And while we’re on the topic of Grillo’s (not sponsored), I honestly think they’re the best dill pickles out there. We’re obsessed with their spears and pickle chips, and I can’t seem to keep them stocked in the fridge!
Naturally, the minute I saw fried pickle dip trending online, I had to try it! After playing around with the ratios, I found the perfect combo: cream cheese, mayo, and sour cream. Trust me, it’s worth it. This is easily one of the tastiest dips I’ve ever had. Try it with wavy potato chips and get ready for a new obsession!
Fried Pickle Dip Ingredients
Ingredient(s) | Tip |
---|---|
Cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise | Use full-fat for the best creamy texture and flavor. Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened so the dip turns out smooth, not lumpy. |
Dill pickles | Dice fine and then pat dry to avoid excess moisture in the dip. |
Fresh dill, chives | Chop finely for even flavor in every bite. Freeze-dried herbs work great too; they’re budget-friendly and save time. |
Garlic powder, black pepper | Add to taste; these boost flavor without overpowering the pickles. |
Panko breadcrumbs, butter | Toast in butter until golden for that crispy “fried pickle” crunch! |
Storage
Store fried pickle dip in an airtight container in the fridge without the panko topping. It thickens and becomes more flavorful as it sits. Add the crispy topping right before serving.

Top Tips For Making Fried Pickle Dip
- Soften cream cheese fully: Let it sit at room temp for 45–60 minutes until very soft.
- Or, microwave in a hurry: Cut into chunks and warm in 10-second bursts until soft.
- Use a hand mixer: It blends the base to the perfect smooth and creamy consistency.
- Pat pickles dry: This keeps the dip thick and prevents it from getting too diluted.
- Chill before serving: Allows flavors to meld and the dip to thicken nicely.
