My Famous Chocolate Dip, But Make It Vanilla
This Chocolate Dip is one of the most loved dips on my site, so it felt about time to share a vanilla version.
This chocolate chip dip is just as easy, just as delicious, and totally perfect for when I want something fun to set out while hosting. Even if there’s no party, I’ll still put it out with a platter of dippers for my family. (My kids think dessert dips are the most fun thing ever!)
It also comes together so fast. Add everything to a bowl, mix, and it’s ready!
I personally love this dip with cookies and fruit, but there are so many fun options for dipping. I hope you love it as much as my family does!

Ingredients In My Chocolate Chip Dip
| Ingredient | Tip |
|---|---|
| Cream Cheese | Use full fat, brick-style cream cheese for the best and creamiest texture. Make sure it’s fully softened so the dip stays smooth. |
| Marshmallow Creme | Scoop with a spoon dipped in hot water so it slides out easily and blends in better. |
| Heavy Cream | Beat just until soft peaks form. Overmixing can cause the cream to separate and turn grainy. |
| Vanilla Extract & Salt | I use imitation vanilla in this dip because it doesn’t have the alcohol bite that pure vanilla can have in no bake recipes. A tiny pinch of salt balances the sweetness. |
| Mini Chocolate Chips & Brown Sugar | Mini chips distribute better in every bite. A little brown sugar adds subtle depth and warmth. |

How To Make Chocolate Chip Dip
- Beat Base: Beat softened cream cheese with the sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Mix In Marshmallow: Add marshmallow creme and beat until combined.
- Whip: Slowly add the cream, then beat just until soft peaks form.
- Fold: Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Chill & Serve: Chill 15 to 20 minutes, stir, and serve with dippers.
Quick Tip
This dip has so many names! It’s also known as Booty Dip, marshmallow fluff dip, cream cheese chocolate chip dip, cookie dough dip, cheesecake dip, or simply dessert dip.

Freezing: Do not freeze. Freezing can change the texture and make it grainy.

Chocolate Chip Dip
Equipment
- Stand mixer or hand mixer
Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese softened, see note 1
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract see note 2
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/16 teaspoon salt
- 1 (7-ounce) container marshmallow creme
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 (10-ounce) bag mini chocolate chips
- Serving suggestions see note 4
Instructions
- Remove cream cheese packaging and place on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave 20 to 30 seconds. Flip and microwave for another 10 to 20 seconds, or until soft but not melted.
- Add softened cream cheese, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat until completely smooth.
- Run a spoon under hot water and dry it. Use the spoon to scoop the marshmallow creme into the mixer. Beat until fully incorporated.
- With the mixer on low speed, slowly pour in the heavy cream. Once fully added, increase speed and beat until thickened and soft peaks form (see note 3). Do not over-beat.
