Burger Night, But Make It a Bowl!

I promise—this is not one of those sad, boring lettuce bowls. This Burger Bowl is loaded with crispy sweet potato fries, juicy seasoned beef, and a sauce so good you’ll be finding excuses to drizzle it on everything.

It’s faster than hitting the drive-thru, way more fun to load up with toppings, and my whole family devours it without a single complaint. Trust me—you’re gonna want to make this on repeat.

Burger Bowl Ingredients

The full recipe is below, but here are a few quick notes:

  • Fries: I love Alexia’s sweet potato fries, but any kind works—even plain!
  • Yellow onion: Grate a little for the sauce, dice the rest to cook with the beef.
  • Ground beef (80/20): Juicier and more flavorful—don’t swap for lean!
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika: My go-to burger spice mix.
  • Beef bouillon powder: Adds rich, beefy flavor that takes the flavor up a notch.
  • Worcestershire sauce: Brings that classic burger taste right at the end.

Ingredients

  • 1 (20-ounce) bag sweet potato fries or regular fries
  • 1 large yellow onion divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef chuck 80/20
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon beef bouillon powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Toppings as desired see note 1
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions 

  • Onion: Grate the onion using the large holes of a grater to get 1 tablespoon for the sauce. Finely dice the rest (about 1 cup) for the beef.
  • Fries: Prepare fries according to package directions in the oven or air fryer.
  • Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayo, ketchup, relish, paprika, and the grated onion. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste). Stir until smooth and chill until ready to use.
  • Beef: Heat a large cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and the diced onion. Sauté for 4–5 minutes or until golden. Move the onion to the edges and add the beef to the center. Increase heat to high and sear for about 1 minute per side, then crumble and brown the beef. Season with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, beef bouillon, salt (1/2 tsp), and pepper (1/4 tsp). Cook until beef is deeply browned and most of the fat has cooked off. Drain excess grease and remove from heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Assemble: Divide fries and beef evenly among 4 bowls. Add your favorite toppings and drizzle with sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve right away.
