Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza is so quick and easy to make and perfect for busy nights! A container of pre-made BBQ pork makes this pizza a snap!

This pizza is made the EASY way–with tons of shortcuts! It’s still summertime, yet school for the most part is back in session, and I think we all could use some easy (but also delicious) dinner ideas!

The shortcuts I’m talking about involve some pre-made ingredients. First off, a pre-made refrigerated pizza dough works perfectly here. (OR if you’ve made pizza dough and have some left over, that will work great here too!)

The biggest time-saving shortcut is the meat. For BBQ pulled pork that tastes tender and flavorful without spending hours of prep time, we are using refrigerated, packaged BBQ pulled pork. You can find pre-made pulled pork usually in the refrigerated meat section of the grocery store. It works perfectly for an easy-made pizza like this one!

Top it with veggies (and some pineapple) and while it’s baking you can cook up the bacon. Delicious AND easy! Enjoy!

QUICK TIP

Pineapple on pizzas is a controversial topic. Seems like either you love it or you hate it! The novel pizza topping became popular as Hawaii was joining the USA as the 50th state in 1959. It was a fitting salute since Hawaii is known for its pineapples. Nobody had any idea how much discussion it would cause!

Ingredients in Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza

  • Pizza dough: This recipe is all about EASY, so we use ready-to-bake prepared pizza dough. Most grocery stores sell dough in the bakery or deli. You can also find pizza dough at many pizza shops. Dust the pan with cornmeal before adding the crust. This adds an extra crunch.
  • Barbecue sauce: Nothing like a good BBQ sauce to add flavor to pulled pork! Use your favorite brand of bottled sauce. Again, we’re talking EASY here!
  • Pulled pork. Sure, you can make your own from scratch, but in this recipe, we’re using a package of cooked already-pulled pork. You’ll find it in the refrigerated prepared meat section.
  • Sliced red onion: This is optional, but the onion amps up the flavor.
  • Pineapple: We love the contrast of sweet and tangy with the BBQ sauce. If you’re one of those pizza lovers who say NEVER PINEAPPLE, feel free to skip this ingredient.
  • Cheese: We add both Monterrey Jack and Mozzarella cheese. We’re aiming for quick and easy results, but this is one exception. We prefer freshly grated cheese. It doesn’t contain the preservatives and anti-clumping agents that pre-shredded cheese has. It’s worth the few minutes you’ll spend grating. Try shredding the cheese in the food processor with the appropriate blade for quick results!
  • Bacon, jalapeño, and cilantro: These toppings turn a great pizza into a stellar one. If they’re not your cup of tea, swap out your own favorites.

How to Make Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza

Prepare the pan and the dough: Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan; sprinkle with cornmeal. Roll out the pizza dough to form a 12-inch circle

Add the sauce and pork: Spread BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving an inch or so for the border. Add the pork on top, distributing evenly.

Pile on the toppings: Start with slices of onion and then top with your favorite extras. We like crumbled bacon, pineapple, and sliced jalapeño.

Bake: Follow the directions listed on the package of pizza dough.

Enjoy! I think you know what to do here. Slice and serve!
