Peanut Butter Puppy Chow is the ultimate snack mix! Crunchy cereal coated in chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, with Reese’s minis and peanut butter chips for extra indulgence. Totally irresistible!
In a very large bowl, add in both cereals, then set aside.
In a separate, large, microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Microwave the mixture in 15-second intervals, stirring well between each burst, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. Stir through the vanilla and salt. Use a spatula to scrape every bit of this mixture over the cereal. Gently stir to ensure the mixture evenly coats the cereal but without crushing it.Optional: If you want the mix-ins to stick more to the cereal, stir them in here! Otherwise, add them later on.
Divide the cereal mixture and powdered sugar into 2 parts: Pour 1/2 cup powdered sugar into a large, resealable plastic bag, followed by half the cereal mixture, then another 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake well until the cereal is evenly coated with the sugar, then pour into a large clean bowl. Repeat this process with the remaining cereal and powdered sugar. Pour into the large bowl.
If you choose to add mix-ins here, add them on top of the sugar-coated cereal and gently stir through to evenly distribute.

Notes
Note 1: Steer clear of the berry-filled varieties of Captain Crunch. If you prefer, feel free to use just one (slightly less flavor!). Alternatively, Reese’s Puff cereal could be a fantastic substitute for peanut butter Captain Crunch!Note 2: Milk chocolate yields a sweeter and milder flavor while semi-sweet delivers a slightly less sweet and more intense chocolate flavor. The better the quality of chocolate used, the better the flavor and the better the melt!Note 3: Optional mix-ins: 1 cup peanut butter chips, 1/2 cup Reese’s minis, 3/4 cup Reese’s pieces minis.Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. Alternatively, you can freeze it for longer storage.
