- Resealable plastic bag 1 gallon-sized and 12 snack-sized
Ingredients
- 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips or semisweet chocolate chips, I like Guittard or Ghirardelli
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1-1/2 cups M&M’s I used green and blue
- 1/2 cup chocolate-covered pretzels
- Candy eyeballs optional, for pretzel monsters
- Chocolate melted; optional, for pretzel monsters
Instructions
- Add cereal to a large bowl; set aside.
- In a large microwave safe bowl, combine peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Microwave in bursts of 15 seconds, stirring between each burst for 15 seconds, until mixture is melted and smooth. Add vanilla and salt. Pour over the prepared cereal. Stir well until cereal is evenly coated.
- Pour cereal mixture into a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag and pour the powdered sugar over it. Seal and shake until cereal is evenly coated.
- Transfer to a large bowl and stir in M&M’s. Separate into even amounts in snack-sized resealable plastic bags.
- If desired, make pretzel monsters by melting chocolate and attaching candy eyeballs to the pretzels with the melted chocolate. Let dry completely, then add a few pretzel monsters to individual bags.
