3cupsgood quality cookies & cream ice cream(Note 2)
1/2teaspoonpure vanilla extract
teeny pinch of fine sea salt
Optional, for serving: whipped cream, 1 Oreo
Instructions
COMBINE: In a large blender, add the milk, cookies & cream ice cream, vanilla, and salt.
BLEND: Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. This may require a bit of patience depending on your blender's capacity. If necessary, stop the blender occasionally to stir or push down the ice cream before continuing to blend. The goal is to achieve the thickest possible milkshake, so we've intentionally used a limited amount of liquid!
ENJOY: Use a spoon to help pour the milkshake into a glass. If you like, top it with whipped cream and a crushed Oreo cookie. You can crush the entire cookie with your hands and sprinkle it right on top! Best enjoyed right after being made!
Notes
Note 1: Blenders come in varying strengths. Using a standard kitchen blender could easily bog down the motor, causing it to burn out. High-powered blenders (like Blendtec® and Vitamix®) can handle the load.Note 2: Ice Cream: Go for a high-quality brand to achieve the best flavor. The ice cream should have a creamy flavor profile enriched with generous amounts of cookie bits. This is the secret to getting the distinctive Oreo taste in the milkshake without using actual Oreo cookies. We recommend Tillamook (not sponsored) and taste tester's agree giving it a 10/10!
