  • 12 prepared plain (glazed) donuts (I use Krispy Kremes)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • tiny pinch of salt
  • Colored jimmie sprinkles (I use green and purple)
  • Edible eyes (an assortment of small and large)
  • Edible gel

  • To make the monster donut, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Once smooth, dip the (tops only) donuts into the glaze and shake off the excess (if there is too much the sprinkles will fall to the sides). Immediately dip glazed donuts into a bowl filled with the sprinkles. Use edible gel to attach the eyes (put a little gel on the back of the eyes and attach). Give the donuts 20+ minutes for the glaze to set.
  • In addition to the monster, you can also make vampire, mummy and spider donuts. (See Note 1.)

Note 1: The directions above are for the monster donuts. For the vampire, mummy and spider donut ideas, please view the instructions in the body of the post.
